HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! asshole.
/sigh. It' funny cause it's true I know.
But this dicussion was also brought up at the shop this morning. Bike is worth anywhere between 3,500 and up. My car is worth anywhere from 2 grand to 3,500. They are fixing to build one for somebody and he's paying them 45 hundred bucks to do it, with his stock xs650.

(is this an addendum to your other bike sitting at Jailhouse or a replacement?).

Addendum. I would then have 2 bikes. I picked up the Harley this morning. Works perfectly
.
I'm not too worried about the shitting blood thing. I mean, the issue with the sporty is that the seat is narrow as fuck. it's like a bananna seat. and the oil tank is all up in my nutsac.

The truck is a 57 Chevy Cameo. 327, 3speed auto. Needs a fuel tank and wood redone in the bed, (it has none). Very little rust other than surface rust, and if you wet the truck and wipe it down, most of the rust washes off. It's comming through cracks in the paint. It's a fucking awesome truck for the price I paid for it.......*cough cough 700.00* My cousin called me out of the blue and told me about it, Casey and I drove out to Douglasville to see it. I bought a 5 gallon plastic gas can from a local autozone, disconnected the fuel line, ran a piece of rubber hose from the tank to the pump, and drove it 15 miles to my cousin's house where he graciously gave up "his" spot in his garage for me to stick it there untill I decided what to do with the Plymouth. I just don't have the room here for more than 2 project cars at one time, and the buick convertible isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
The bike has a big bore kit on it, rebuilt motor, bigger carbs, it's a 5 speed (THANK FUCKING GOD). I brought up this trade to Pauly when I was at the shop this morning. He told me what to look for to make sure it was built right, and if it passes my checklist, then it is well worth the trade. Hell, he said he wanted one for himself...lol. Apparently there is a big thing about building these bikes into bobbers and choppers. I have also been told by many in the last 24 hours that this bike will blow the doors off my sporty....( figuratively speaking of course). I posted this same thread on several die hard hot rod sites, every last single person said to take the bike. I dunno. I'm going to see it in person tomorrow early afternoon.

And if 65 mph and no seatbelts is a concern....just more projects for the '53. I'm not much of a bike guy, but I love old cars. Just my 2 pennies.

That's EXACTLY what I was gonna say!As a side note - if you think that your other bike makes your ass hurt, you think a rigid with 2 little springs is going to let you ride for more than 20 minutes before you shit blood?
Also, wanna hear how stupid a Yamaha XS650 sounds with drag pipes?...
Sounds like a tractor...
Keep what ya got Straycat, you can get a better trade than that bud.

I do like metric bobs alot - and it is a mighty cool bike - but as you said 'it's already done' - so you'd be bored with it even sooner.
The truck with 2 bikes is an option worth considering, but I don't think this is the right trade - let's go rob a bunch of metal from other cars (I've got a plasma) and put some pans in your shit and just ride out with it for a while.
How about some details on this '57 truck? If it's dope, then to hell with the plymouth, get the bike (is this an addendum to your other bike sitting at Jailhouse or a replacement?).

it's a cool bike but not a harley. you wanted a harley so don't settle till you get what you want. besides it's already built by somebody else. you could build a metric cruiser for fairly cheap. and no i'm not saying this b/c i tried to trade you my car for yours
i think you should hold out till you get something closer to what you want. hell for that matter buy/build a towbar for the plymouth and use the truck to tow IT to shows

14Hell yeah dude, Bike is done and has a better milliage range.0.00%0Eh nah, the car is pretty cool even if it's a cancer bucket28.57%4Classic pick up+ 2 custom bikes to go in the back= how the fuck can you go wrong there?21.43%3LMS is an asshole.50.00%7A guy wants to trade me for my Plymouth. Now...I'll go into detail here so everyone knows everything, and help me with an educated decision here.
My Plymouth is a 3 on the tree car, max speed of 65 mph. LOTS of rust. Basically ican only go to carshows relatively close with it. Plus the arguement of "you can't carry the kids, drive in the rain, ect" DOES NOT APPLY, because the car has no seatbelts and the wipers don't work anyways, so there is no change there.
I just bought another classic pre 64 automobile, so I would still be gravy when it comes to car clubs and so on, but I have to order some parts before i can drive it further than a mile or so. I just got a 57 chevy pick up. Needs a fuel tank, and new wood in the bed. It runs and drives nicely.
The guy wants to trade me for this bike........
79 xs650 - custom pipes, bars (mid 70's tiger - or the apes shown), rear fender, bat box, 75 sport tank, bates style 3" spring seat (black one also), brand new gangster whites, soviet head light, kick and electric etc... Carbs just re-built, new battery, cables, kick stand, stator, wiring.
I am casting my personal vote first. But as Shadow has said in a previous poll, i tend to have the mentality of "i don't care what makes sense"....and it doesn't ALWAYS work to my advantage.....Last edited by StrayCat; 07-04-2009, 05:04 AM.Tags: None
