Well, at least in Hell we can't get stuck in general population. We really don't play well with others

Yes I agree... it does look cool to watch. Always enjoy watching them put on a show at cruise-ins! Even saw them catch the grass on fire more than once.
Old-school setups are simply a Ford Model A coil (or two) and a hand choke on the carb. Model A coils are in a wood box & are 6 volt... so when you throw 12 volts to them the coil wire transfers an enormous amount of spark to the spark plugs you put in your tailpipes.
The hand choke... you rev up the engine, yank the choke closed, & hit a toggle switch for the coils. The umburned fuel ignites out the tailpipes. If you watch these guys it's obvious it takes practice & a rythm.
The bad... unburned fuel is also pushed into the oil. Gas thins your oil, so it works wonders on your rings & bearings (in a bad way). Watch at shows, the cars with flamethrowers on them often are burning oil while driving... now you know why! LOL i usually take note when looking at cars for sale & look for spark plugs in the exhaust & wonder how whipped the engine is.
As for propane assist... the guys pipe in propane through a 12 volt solenoid on flamethrowers, that way it reduces the risk of fire backfeeding into the propane tank... ever see a propane tank blow up? Imagine that IN your car. But if you must please research it with the masters who know the safest setups to build. Hey! Zach uses propane props on his coach... ask him! (paging Zach)

I want to do this with my organ pipes on the Dragula. I know there's a way to do it with propane but am hesitant after hearing of horror stories (Derrick). Any suggestions?
don't do it.
