Chaser,
It was great to chat with you this evening on the phone. FINALLY! I'm hoping that our meeting when I come up to the area for final prep to the Route 66 cruise will be both informative and beneficial for ALL the hearse clubs there and for here.
I personally think that between some of your ideas and my ideas we can actually make both clubs grow as well as gain some acceptance within the other car club cultures. In turn, we will also help the NHAA grow in both clubs and membership.
To the other members who are LOCAL CoTD, I know full well what Chaser, Black Widow, Kelly and other go through trying to put events and get togethers launched. The Lonestar Hearse Association was formed much for the same reason as CoTD as well.....to find other hearse and procar owners who want to get together on regular basis, do things together, go to shows and basically have a good time. The only way a club is successful is what the MEMBERS put forth into it. We as Club President's, Founder's, etc are here for is to help guide the direction and growth. However, trying to come up with acceptable events, plans and dates is not easy when we have no participation from members.
Now for my cheesy plug.....Thursday, September 20th starting at 4:00PM, the Lonestar Hearse Association and Kansas Hearse Association will be at Schifferdecker Park to start the kick off party and registration party for our 1st Annual "Get Your Kicks On Route 66 Hearse, Hot Rod and Classic Car Cruise & Show". Members from the CoTD (and other Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma hearse clubs) are cordially invited to come meet other clubs and enjoy in some of the festivities. I have excellent word from Chaser himself, he WILL be there!!! Even if you're not able to make the Cruise, come out and spend some time with your hearse and hot rod bretheren. We will be having tunes a goin, GOOD ol' Texas BBQ spread, a Poker Run and other excitement. For those wishing to know more, please visit the website, http://route66hearsecruise.bravehost.com - We look forward to meeting everyone from the Chariot's of the Dead!
