At the last meeting Chaser informed me that a certain member of this club has started rumors floating about, so I thought that perhaps I should clear the air. Yes, it is true that Travis and I have started the Kansas Hearse Association. At this moment it is simply yet another hearse oriented yahoogroup. Eventually, we plan on making it an actual real life hearse club along the same lines as Chariots of the Dead. This does not mean that either Travis and Amanda, nor myslef or Larry will be leaving Chariots of the Dead. We plan on remaining active members and participating in club activities when we can. KHA is just something we are doing in addition to CotD. It is not meant to supplant this club. It's simply that we do live in Kansas and because of work schedules and such, there are sometimes events that we cannot make it to. So we figured that instead of complaining everytime an event for this club is scheduled on a Sunday and Monday (which being the Pres and Vice Pres's days off is only logical for CotD) we would just schedule some events on Saturday and Sunday, which in our mind simply gives everyone the opportunity to attend more hearse related events. Can't have too much hearse stuff going on, can we?
I guess what I am trying to say is that we are not trying to be competition with this club, nor are we walking away or trying to be pissy about the scheduling of club events. Because Joplin is close enough to the Pittsburg/Ft. Scott area, we're hoping that we will have a lot of cross-participation. In fact, there is a car show coming up on Sept. 30th in Ft. Scott....free to enter, just show up. I have the okay that hearses are more than welcome. (yes, I checked first as it is actually a harvest/agricutural festival and I wanted to make sure that we would be welcomed) I had planned on posting the info as soon as I get a bit more of it...time and exact place of entry, etc.
I guess that about sums it up. I do have more I could say about a certain person being a gossipy old hag and needing to get his facts straight before running his mouth, but I will play nice.
