    Has anyone ever put a PT6 in the back of a hearse, linked to the transmission? It would be the ideal engine, even up to 800 HP without worrying about blowing anything up, and you could easily bring it to a stop, because the output shaft is on a free turbine. The problems I could see would be :

    Getting enough air into it. You would probably have to make the rear windows into ducts and scoops, and :

    Getting the exhast out. It is a reverse-flow engine, so the exhast pipes are out the front, but they are 6" in diameter. You would need some custom pipes going out the bottom. or wherever.

    The really awesome thing about this is that it would burn anything less expensive than gasoline, like jet fuel, or single-malt scotch.

    This is, of course, an expensive project that we couldn't possibly do now. I'm just curious to know whether anyone else has pulled it off.
