I was with Bruce Weiner (microcar museum owner) in Canada several years ago when he met a seller about another possible museum acquisition. The seller was meeting us at a coffee shop, driving the vehicle, and was late. It was dusk. Another 1/2 hour passed before he showed. Bruce told me to remember the old adage, "Buy a car in the dark, then you'll have to sell that car in the dark."
He bought it.
2 years later I was subpoenaed to Toronto to testify in a lawsuit over that car. When I leaned in and whispered to Bruce outside the courtroom "Buy a car in the dark, then you'll have to sell that car in the dark" - he didn't laugh.
