The guy came to tow of my 74 S&S yesterday. I have heard alot of stories about hearses, but his may have been gutted but it was still "alive" and seemed to know what fate awaited it. She fought us the whole time we were loading her up. Fixed two tires the day before, when he came to get it, 2 flat tires. Took him 45 mins to get the ignition switch to break loose so we could turn the wheeels. Lined the truck up and started to pull it up, right front tire was locked up. We got it half way up the bed and the winch refused to pull it anymore. (See pic. 1) Then he shut his truck off to rest it for a minute, it was too hot to restart. I hosed the starter to cool it and we had to jump off my car to get it to start again. Doubled the winch line and pull it and got it farther up the bed. Hooked my come-a-long to help pull, but it broke. Then we hooked my car to the truck to help give the winch more juice. Notice the extension cord winch switch? Once we got the car back as far as it would go, hitting the headache rack, the front wheels were still on the ramps. The poor winch was smoking by now. (Pic. 2) So we jacked the car off the ramps and removed them. And set the frame down on blocks and boards. (Pic. 3) The results can be seen in Pic. 4. Enough for one post.

Strapped the hood down and she was finally loaded and ready to go. (Pic. 5) But we weren't done yet, we had to dodge the power lines coming out of the backyard. So we ran into the next door asshole's yard to make it. (Pic.6) Ever seen a "flubber" hearse "floating" down the road at you? (Pic. 7) Had to follow him to the store to get my $50 for the hearse. Pic. 8 Shows how tall the hearse is on the back of the truck. All I kept hearing all day was that damn little dog saying, "I think we're gonna need a bigger truck."

The important stuff is long gone. The rear bumper, the interior, landaus, most of the hearse stuff everybody is always looking for is gone. I got the some of the rollers, the fender skirts, taillights and some other stuff before it left. It was a matter of time, I didn't have anymore time to get anything big off it, damn code enforcement. Plus I have been advertizing it as a parts car for over 3 years, nobody ever said they needed anything off it, so it is gone now, my loss and thiers.
