I picked up my buddy's 1985 Saab SPG today. It's in overall great shape, just needs the entire cooling system replaced. Saab only imported around 1469 of these for '85, and just over 7000 for the entire production span.
Things to do first, I need to find a 91+ non turbo 900 and grab the head, intake mani, fuel rail, and regulator. This will add some airflow into the engine.
The thing motored around nicely, I was doing 90 no problem, and zipped around slow assholes on the onramps.
The only rust is a little in the inside of the lower doors and the edges of the hood. I think I stole it for $600. The shop he took it to basically gave it a $3000 parts and labor estimate on all sorts of stuff and he said forget it and called me to see if I wanted it.

Front motor mount
Headgasket
Head
Intake
Fuel rail
Pressure regulator
Radiator
T-stat
Overflow tank
LH lower controll arm
Ball joints
Tie rod ends.
Hopefully the front motor mount and a spring shimming will help. Sometimes it likes to pop out of 3rd gear. Also a simmple messing with the knock and boost potents in the ECU box will add a few horses too.
