  • Harley maybe buying Ducati?

This could end reaaaaaaal bad for me. I'd go to buy some syn3 for an oil change and ride a 1098 home instead (the other bike I want besides the one I have is a ducati 1098 with termignoni exhaust)

a friend of mine layed down a ducati monster, and now he refuses to go anywhere near it, i'm trying to do two things.

1 get him to come off of it and sell it to me

2 get casey to allow me to have a crotch rocket.

            I can't afford a Ducati or a Buell. I'm actually thinking about a Yamaha FZ6. I want a Zuki 1200 Bandit............ or maybe a Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 Mean Streak

Nikki said that I have proven enough responsibility on a motorcycle to let me have a crotch rocket. The only issue is that I refuse to buy one unless I can go into a store and buy leathers off the shelf - none of this special order shit because I can't find what I need in my size. I will probably end up with either a GSX-R 750 or a Buell, but if Harley buys Ducati and can get the price at least somewhere remotely close to reasonable, I'd get one.

Yeah, after the merger, the price on the 1098 will be alot closer the buells, and Ducati can lend a few ideas to the ppl at Buell, lol.

A couple of my buds "stopped by" the Ducati place in Atl, and each left with a 1098. I'm getting a house with one of them, so it'll be parked right next to my bike in the garage. "Oops, I mistook the red one for my night train again-my bad."

Damn I want another crotch rocket..I miss my old one. I've been looking real close at the gsxr-1000s. But I'd have to sell some of my coaches to get one, so that's not gonna happen. Actually at this point I'd be almost content with a scoot that will start when I need it to and not die at intersections.

That'll all come down after the merger.

It might but I kinda doubt it. I'm sure that one of the reasons the moco would even consider this is because of the premium price tag that goes with Ducati and the incredible brand loyalty, if they keep the prices the same but offer more ways to buy them through all the avenues that you can buy a Harley through, then they make money hand over fist - plus, it has been my experience, that most HD owners don't even change their own oil - so the stealerships could get even more of that revenue. Ducati has a poor distribution network, are up to their asses in debt, and has tiny market penetration. They would really benefit from the HD network and seemingly endless supply of money.

You mean "bikers" don't work on their own scoots? No way! Next you're gonna tell me that every doctor and lawyer in town owns one, and only ride on the weekends (if the sun is shining), and dress up in leather and chains, and put on a fake ass attitudes, when really they are only riding because they have a lot of money and they saw two episodes of American Chopper, then go back to their big office in their luxury car and constantly make references to "my Harley". I don't believe it-not for a second.....
