i pulled up in the driveway with a 20 foot long baby blue embodiment of death. That's right, July 31st, 2006, i bought miss abigail le fay, and took my first steps into a larger world.

i remember it well. i'd been driving a 94 toyota camry, and the transmission was on the way out. i sold it to an old high school buddy for like $500. I really wanted to get a new car, because my 89 chevy silverado is a rolling heap of disaster.

I was spending lots of time with at that time between hexxt, phobia, and 80's night. I knew she had owned several hearses, so i thought i would research them on ebay just for fun. i never seriously thought i'd buy one.

So i did the ebay thing, and found out that hearses are usually really cheap, and usually have pretty low mileage. I was at 80's night one fateful thursday, chilling in purgatory and talking with master chuck (is he on LJ?) and maggie the bartender. I casually mentioned to him that i'd been researching hearses. Then he tells me, "well you know there are a couple of hearse dealerships in marietta."

So the next day i looked them up on google. I stewed on the possibility of dropping by the dealer for a couple of days, telling my self that it would be silly, and that hearses are *so* impractical, etc. So that monday i dropped by crane sales with a budget of $3000. After getting some "what the hell are you doing here" looks from the receptionist, i was out back with the sales guy.

He took me directly to miss abigail and gave me the tour. I must admit that i wasn't that fond of the baby blue color at first. The more i looked at the car, the more i had to have it. I was so anxious and excited that i thought i'd spontaneously combust if i didn't buy it like NOW.

I soon returned with $2000 (+ tax) and bought her on the spot. let me stress that i DID NOT EVEN TEST DRIVE HER FIRST. Stupid, yes? perhaps. It worked out pretty well though. I honestly think it was a gift from god. To date, she's been the best car i've ever owned.

(deleted the rest - i hate this UBB code crap. go to my live journal for the rest of the post)
