this explains all.....
if your married, u know what i mean. he is my slave for eternity, he sold me his soul, i get him a bike...but i get a bike, too. I WIN!
i havent completely decided yet, but i am leaning towards the 1200 sportster "hugger". Mainly because you can do so much with them. I was also looking at some Bobbers and some FLHRs. I just need to decide EXACTLY what my primary purpose for it is going to be before i make my final decision..
I love my dyna. It's perfect for most of the riding I do, but if I was going to pick out another bike I'd probably buy a road king classic so I could put down some hellacious miles without the exhaustion at the end of it. I'll ride anywhere at any time pretty much as it is, I'd just like a little bit more creature comfort for lonnnnng rides (6+ hours and on multiple days consecutively). You can't go wrong with a sportster, but personally I'd just bump up to dyna (all the bare essentials you get with the sportster, but you get the bigger engine and a 6 speed if you get a brand new one).

the only bad thing about a sporty, is they have no value like the bigger bikes. great in town scooters but nothing for a long haul. ya need at least a super-glide, or better.
don't forget the swap-meet in charlotte n c in november you can find great deals.
Yeah, I noticed the Sportsters and the Dynas look ALOT alike, but I am also faced with yet one other issue. I have to get "Frau" done as well, and she needs a whole new suspension basically. From sitting in the museum since 1978 and not moving, the suspension settled under the weight. and that is going to cost me a few grand as well. I dunno. I have seen some really nice stuff done with the sportsters. You can build it any way you want. But at the same time I really liked that silver/black bike Tim has. Fuck i dunno. See how badly I am bouncing around in my head?lol.
I would buy one. At the same time i almost bought a Ducati Monster. But my wife bluntly REFUSES to allow me to own a crotch rocket. I mean, i have argued the whole thing with her time and time and time again, but she won't budge. I keep telling her that it's not the bike, it's the rider, if the rider is a dumbass and a dipshit, he is going to crash, or otherwise fuck up no matter WHAT bike he/she is on.
But at any rate, Harley is the best. And I am more accustomed to cruisers, they are more practical for the "straight white american male". So fuck it. She said yes to a Hog. So hog it will fucking be!!!!

But Buell's are made by HD! All it is, is a sportster with some skins on it and geared differently. Plus those bastards are wheelie monsters...which I found out by mistake....lol.
