who babies there car and how fast have you gotten her? I don't want bullshit. anyone can say they drive at 150. How fast have you driven a hearse...really. Its not a contest, if you baby your car and never go over 25 I respect that. I would like to get an idea how the hearse community pushes there car from time to time.

A 60 Buick Invicta will run 130 and that was tested in Daytona in 1960. Will my hearse run that fast....no. My hearses uses the Lesabre chassis and The Invicta/Electra engine and the Electra 225 rear end with a lower ratio. That means either more top end because of a taller gear or lower top end because of to much gear, your guess is as good as mine. The last funeral home owner Patrick Sweeney was clocked at 110 in Cathline. I have personally had her to115 with the secondarys cracked. I would guess she would top out around 125 or so but I am not going to find out.

Me, Adam and Matt were coming back from Lancaster and we were floating between 105 and 115 almost all the way through virginia. It was pretty entertaining.

Fastest I've had my hearse: 122, my truck: 110, my ex-girlfriends car: 137.

I usually cruise on the freeway between 75 & 90 depending on time of day & what the radar detector says.

I stay 80-85 in Erzabet. That is, until I get the new engine. I might be puttin a 434 small block in next month if all goes as planned. Then I'll definitely go 86. Maybe even 87.

160 on a 'Busa once. I'll stick with my Harley.

After my last 100+ mile per hour curise, my baby dont seem to want to go above 90 MPH.
So I voted 70 to 85 MPH, which is what I usually dive at
unless the gf is with me then I cant go over the speed limit or she would have a heart attact

I usually run wide open on the highway. Which is why I dont understand why people put Me, Ganci, or LMS at the front. None of us can keep our foot out of it.

I dunno....my speedo doesn't go as fast as my 76 was going...LOL....boy that was scary when my better judgement took over and realization kicked in...I couldn't imagine how long it would have taken me to slow down in the case I had to abruptly stop.

I am a wuss. Its not that I am afraid to drive fast, I just don't think I could stop or avoid a problem in that car.

I haven't broke the 100MPH mark with one of my coaches yet. I wouldn't trust any of them at that speed. Not that I wouldn't trust a coach at that speed, just not mine in their current conditions. I did run my lightly modded 92 vette to the 175 mark once..............fun but not something you want to do very often.

I don't have a hearse yet so I can't comment on that. Otherwise, the fastest I've been is 165 through Nevada in my '98 vette (un-modded at the time).

My drive line rumbles at around 65-70, so when I'm on the freeway, I either go 60 or 80. The last time I caravan'd to Dallas with Tony in the white truck, he wanted to go 80, so I had to either follow or bitch at him over the two-way radios. At 80, I stop for gas about every 150 miles. A 500 engine and a heavy 3-way just isn't going to sip fuel, and I think that my transmission is starting to go. It's still fun to drive around town, though.

BTW, I highly recommend those little FM two-way radios. You have to be able to see the other vehicle to be in range, but our rechargeable batteries lasted a good 32 hours. I brought extra batteries and charger that I never even needed. No CB chatter either, although sometimes I get bored and turn it on and people like to talk to me about the hearse.
