Yeah. We have been in contact constantly even after the switch, and we are very happy with the outcome. God....it sounds like we traded kids for visitation or some shit...lol.

I put her new 20 inch rims and tires on her today. She rolls great. As far as mechanical, she only needs a few things, front brake pads, exaust leak fixed, and a wheel allignment cause she pulls slightly right. But we are unsure about the paint scheme. I dunno wether to paint her to match the interior, or repaint white.

Go white.... red and black is nice, but the white makes the interior pop.

Well here's an interesting story of right time right place right person/people. From time to time out of boredom I would browse e-bay and Craig's list, do a search on 58 to 62 Cadillac's, 1st choice 59 second 60, preferably convertible 60 I know a 59 covert. would be out of question so 59 was ULTIMATE first choice. I then would send a message and pic of my ride offering a trade. Not that I was dead set or itching to trade my hearse but always entertained the possibility, quite honestly I was done with the hearse I did all I could do, tricked from the dash to the ass (except exterior) you all know this. Now I could go balls deep and spend 5000.00 on the custom paint job I always dreamed of and bag it and completely done and keep it forever or.......I could give her up now let someone else complete her and I could trade her off and start a newbie. Now I wouldn't do this little Easter egg hunt often because I knew that I would get responses of rejection for trade. It would have to be the right person the right time and the car I was grasping for would have to be in equal limits of what I was trading up or down. Last week I was fishing Craig's list and plugged in my search, only two cars came to my interest, a 64 which is way off from my choice but considered it because it was a convertible which would sooth the sting of the weak attempt of Cadillac's attempt to say our car still has fins. The other was a 59 4 door "series 62". The add said for sale/partial trade. I had a small glimmer of hope small. I sent a pic of my ride and offered the trade. I got a response that said "Hey aren't you Kevin? Dead-ends Kevin. I have met you once and have only heard story's about your ride but have never seen it in person. I appreciate the offer but really just need the money." I replied back no problem I understand. The next day I get an e-mail from Billy that says "the wife says do it". I then love his wife as much as he does. To condense the story we haggled and communicated for about a week and decided to both go ahead with the trade. After reading Billy's first post in this thread I think he landed exactly or pretty damn close to what he would be willing to trade his 59 for. One thing he mentioned is a car very special. My 78 Fleetwood indeed was a very special car to me. At first look it's quite obvious but think of the friends who had input on the car whether it was phone advice, you guys here or a friend sweating out till 4 in the morning getting it ready for a show the next day. I remember the first year at Monster Bash serving wine out of it to everyone that wanted a glass from dead-ends celebrating the new ride and the journey I was about to go on with it. I learned a lot I did a lot and will .... miss it a lot. But I take after my dad just can't hold on to something long after you feel like you are done. (except I don't think I will EVER sell or trade the 59 EEEEVER it's my life car) I will always line up with the hearses and remain a part of dead-ends and functions. It was just time to move on.... for now. I will some day again have another hearse. Until then I will support the love and fascination we have for these god awful cars to others and works of art to us. I have to give complete and total props to Billy for standing up to every bit of his word when we interviewed each other about the cars. Everything he has told me about the 59 has been consistent with the 59 as he told it..... except the rust on the driver side rocker panel ass hole! No just kidding it's a small amount and I did forget to tell him a few flaws in the hearse. So once again Billy thanks to you and your wife for making this trade a fair, honest and smooth one. I give you AAAA+ feed back on the trade. I'm one ecstatic mother FUCKER!!! Right time right place right person.( I knew it wouldn't happen unless I found someone that was just as fucked up as me The best part is that nether of us get to really see our rides leave next Monster bash were parking next to each other and were putting a sign up in between our cars that says was his with two arrows pointing to each car. I think he's even going to go with my suggested paint scheme I'll let him spill the beans on that. I have a new challenge on my hands now much bigger to get the car how I WANT IT, just like my hearse. Now as far as the Landau bars go you fuckers when I was told that the bars were on backwards I did not know this, I was a hearse rookie at the time. Then after flipping them the correct way with my eyes they didn't go with the contour of the car IMO. Backwards the curves just seem to flow better with the rest of the car so that's why I left them, that and to aggravate you guys ~. Now without further adjure my 1959 dream come true!!!

And since above pictures we spent a night in the garage and lowered it about two inches in the front just to level her out a little to match the air shocks in the back.

Now, I'm looking for a one stop shop Cadillac parts dealer, someone I can call who knows their shit, reasonably priced and that I can build a relationship with and in return give all my money to. Any suggestions?

She'll be washed again by time you read this. And notice our make shift chrome to cover clip holes? I did that THE NIGHT of the trade. I just couldn't ride around with clip holes no way. ask David and you prob know by now awful OCD. We took some of theat generic stick on strip chrome, bought two packages and stacked it on top of each other down the side of the car to cover the holes for now, it actually turned out sleek as hell. Go back and look close.

First of all, are you in Utah? Because the plates say Utah.

Second of all, I may be able to assist you in finding parts for that car.
Also, usapartssupply.com has everything you need for that car. EVERYTHING!

The front plate is utah, the back plate is a GA antique tag.

This coach is odd. Seriously. I get a combo of reactions to her. It's kind of like the looks I got in the 59, combined with the looks I got in any other coach. I am sooo going to get use to this.lol.

I got very mixed reactions in that ride as well Billy they smiled at times frawned others, appauled at others, confused others, laughed, didn't look...... always something different.

As for myself in the 59.... I haven't been honked at so much in my life besides the hearse. I mean one dude comes across his seat at a red light rolls down his window and just ecstatically yells props to me like it was his and shit the guy was so stoked!! True car lover. The haters, lots of people try not to look cause they don't want you to know they dig your ride, then when you pass em, and I look in the rear view they pull off the shades stop.stare and don't move till I'm out of sight. I guess the coolest looks are from the old folks they stare intensely with no expression look it uuuup and dooooown they are at that time remembering. I mean we weren't born yet and they remember that car coming out. Seems were both happy Billy I know I am spent 3 hours waxing and washing the other day. Heres some photos a pro took the other night. Also after lowered.
