I remember the feeling of moving from a cubicle to an office...you could turn out your lights and spend your lunch hour snoozing if you wanted to...nobody looking over your shoulder...people knocking before they came in...it was heavenly. I'm so happy you got it. I wish I could bake you a huge lasagna and a German Chocolate cake and buy everyone a keg.

If you want a nice office effect, borrow a ladder from Facilities, take out your light tubes, and bring in an incandescent lighting fixture that pleases you...maybe something with purples and greens. I like waterfalls too, but men always complain that the sound makes them want to take a piss. Low-light indoor plants make a big difference. A soft glowing light over your desk will keep you from getting eyestrain. Of course, don't do what I do...check with your boss first. I always just decorated, office or cubicle, any way I wanted to, and some people resented it. If they're being nice to you, you should show that you care what they think. The people who are good to you usually have to count on people upstairs to be good to them. I'll probably never do this again, so please pardon me for trying to share what I learned. It was mostly ten miserable, wasted years and I want to tell people how to get the best of what I got. I think I'm a little loopy today too.

In many ways, it actually makes you feel better to have a regular job, especially if you work with people you like. There is always the one who reads every wall in the building looking for something to be offended by, and they're always morbidly obese, so it's hard to push them down the stairs and break their necks, but two or three people can usually do it. The hard part is getting them to the stairs, because they always use the elevators, but maybe you can borrow a cart and some rope from Facilities.

No...really...enjoy the new job. I used to have a sign on my monitor that said "RELAX...you can always beat the shit out of somebody later". I think it helped.

    Bon Courage,

My new job went well today. I was very excited to learn that I have my very own office with a door! I've always been stuck in a cube!

They decided to have me work Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays 9-4 instead of having me come in everyday for 4 hours.
I thought that was very nice of them...their reason was they knew I lived 35 miles from the office so they didn't want me to waste all my money on gas

Geez, I can barely scroll through the threads with all of these pictures in here. If there is a way to shut off signatures, I'm going to do it. This is ridiculous.

I'm glad you found a job. I work a few hours here and there now, managing our owner-operator trucking LLC . I can write myself a paycheck if I need it, and Tony can take students and make more money, with nothing else to do but drive, so that's how I get paid.

It keeps my resumé continuous as well. My physical therapy helped a little, and gave me some hope that I might be able to work again, in case we need more money than our own business can provide us with, but I think we will be OK, as long as the price of fuel doesn't go nuts.

Morgan freeman in Shaw Shank finally gets parolled when he sat there and basically said I don't give a fuck if you let me out or not. After several attempts to seal his freedom.
