He owns his own body shop, and he has the guitar. While I would prefer cash, if I had to, I would take the guitar. But who the hell would want to buy a guitar with "fuck you" inlaid on the fretboard? And we'd have to pay to have IT repainted before we could sell it.

Well if this guy owns his own body shop and puts out crap work like he did on your car, he probably is in some sort of litagation with some others that he has f**ked over, you might try class action, and split the expenses....verbal contracts can be upheld in court. I myself would definitely demand restitution.
