  • Cobra is gone...

Man that is some seriously heartbreaking shit to watch someone else drive off in your car. But cash is king.

Hopefully going today to look at the next addition to my fleet. =)

Pretty close. I put it up on craigslist, got some of the most absurd offers to trade - one guy said he had cash and he knew a buddy of mine - I told him if he showed up with cash we could do it. 2 hours later I had cash in hand and he drove off. It worked out pretty well for us all I think.

      Still heartbreaking though.

That is great to get almost what you wanted.
The Caprice is actually up for sale now. I hope it goes quick and for the price I want because I'm about to get it's replacement in the next few weeks. I'll probably put it on Craigslist, but at the moment I've just called a few people that over the years gave me their number and told me when I was ready to sell to let them know first.

Why are you getting rid of the Caprice? Gas mileage?

I wish I were in a position to pick it up, but we really need to get rid of cars. I want to give the Volvo to Jenny, because as much as I'm not crazy about the Mercury, I paid $25k for it, and I'm not giving it to a kid.

Yeah, but that was her Baby. No wonder people are lining up to get a shot at it.

My philosophy is that if I see a car that I want, there isn't any reason to get rid of one that I have, when I can have both.

Maybe that's why I have to move six cars to get one of them out....

I love the Caprice, but I don't like what it attracts and worrying when I park it somewhere whether it is going to be there when I come out of a store.

I've been followed into a parking lot twice by thug-ish guys wanting to see if it was for sale. At least once a week I get waved at or a kiss blown at me while driving it! Funny when I drive the Suburban to the same areas I don't get even a look so I know it is the car. LOL

Pisses me off because when we bought the car in 1998 it wasn't a brother car!

I'm actually looking for a Firebird between 1998-2002......black of course!!!

We don't have that problem here. Mostly, Suburbans and small rice burners get stolen, and they're in Mexico by the time the owner knows that they're gone. I can go a week without seeing a "bro" here, but at least they're reasonably polite people compared to Mexicans.

What I thought was strange when I lived in Dallas was that any time a black person had a problem, like not being able to find something in the grocery store, car trouble or whatever, they would ask the first white person they could find for help.
