  • Wondering what happened?

Some package I was installing broke the mysql connector for php and caused all the sites on this server to go tits up. We had a major power outage in one of our facilities today and was on a conference call for 9+ hours and having to work on this server when I had a few free moments.

I apologize for the delay, should be good to go now.

BTW - we'll be moving to a new server next month (cheaper, more power, in house at where I work), so there might be a slight interuption of service but nothing too bad - I'll move the database over first and point both boards on both servers to it, then move dns. Usually painless, but we'll see.

I'm glad I was between games of Evangelist Wars, not that my files aren't always backed up, but you know how people get when they're in a game and it goes down. Does anyone else run games on sql?

My phone never quit blowing up today.

Server never went down, it was just the mysqlclient for php that wasn't working.

It's probably a permissions issue, but I went to the trouble to write a reset.php which loads the database, only to find that my data can't be loaded from a text prompt on some platforms. I had to copy the reset file, comment out everything that loaded the databases, then load them with the cpanel interface. I don't really care right now because I'm too busy trying to keep the business running, but here are some more rings for you.
