Of course we all know that the president of the US has little if any control over the economy, price of oil, or any other issues that we like to blame on him.
My allegory of good government does away with shit like this:
Today, I had a business meeting, and my suggestion that ownership of our aircraft be transferred to the corporation before a rental agreement was signed was given the thumbs up by our aviation affiliate, so we approved the decision. Knowing as I do that two forms are necessary to sell an aircraft, a bill of sale and an application for registration, I went to the FAA website.
The bill of sale form was available for download; however, when I searched for the other form, it did not appear to be online. I did some digging, and found that only the original form, from the FAA office in Oklahoma City, is accepted. The bill of sale was put online years ago, but with no provision for the registration, what was the point, aside from wasting the taxpayers' money? There are the big wastes of money, which we all know and complain about, but there are also millions of small ones, which, added up and scrapped, could probably balance the budget.
For instance, every time the government asks me to fill out a form, it is required that they provide me with an estimate of the time which it is likely to take for me to do it, a notation which is attributed to the "Paperwork Reduction Act." It doesn't save me any paperwork...I have to fill out the damned form regardless of the time it takes. It seems to me that it causes the government a little more paperwork to have to come up with this time estimate.
