It was nice to take it for a drive today, and it passed emissions easily enough.
Unfortunately, the wipers came on, all by themselves. Maybe Libriana is being a grouch for being asked to go for a ride so early, or the used wiper switch that I put in only lasted five years. I can't believe I've had the coach that long. Any part that doesn't last, though, gets replaced with my own design. I never liked those switches on the 76 anyway, so I may make a little panel that feels comfortable to me, or I may use the delay wiper switch that I have, if the wiring is all there. Like all GM cars of that era, the washer pump will go bad, and it's best to replace the whole thing. Maybe I can get one for delay wipers.
The hood didn't stay up too well, either. I welded up the rivets in one of the hinges a few years ago, and maybe it didn't last.
I'm never going to get done with this project if more things keep breaking. I may have to stop the mods and do some maintenance for a while.
