I can't wait till the next drunk hits a power pole.
If the power goes out, the home theatre, a few lights, Internet, the computers, etc. will keep running for 30-60 minutes, but since Tony's and Jenny's UPS's beep...all I have to do is switch the main breaker off (as a courtesy to the lineman), start the generator, and the whole house comes back on.
Everything will work except the central air and range, and I don't have to pull any plugs or run any wires, just start the generator and the UPS's will shut up and start charging again from the wall outlets. When the power comes back on, I shut down the generator and turn the main breaker back on.
Oh yeah, and I may have to pause the movie I'm watching while I start the generator.
I picked up the generator and the wiring this morning, but Mister Crane is in need of an overhaul, and I had a hell of a time unloading it and hauling it to the back patio, so I'm calling it quits.
