So Nikki and I were driving around running errands and ended up all over creation. Turned one way and another and ended up on Rockbridge Rd heading back home and saw the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir hindu temple. Ho-ly-shit it was cool!
It was getting kind of overcast so the pictures suck, but it was just incredible the amount of intricately carved marble, limestone and sandstone that was everywhere. We went in and it was even more elaborate with these insane carvings in the walls and in the ceilings, the doors were like huge puzzles of intricate detail work. The inside was almost entirely stone with only a few small carpets on the floor (I assume for meditation), so when the priests(?) came out and started chanting it filled the entire building. It was absolutely incredible.
