Are people still kickin' it on skates? I used to disco skate back in the 70's! Are they on the roller blades now, or are the old four-wheelers still in use?

That reminds me of a funny kid, one of my brother's friends, who went skating for the sole purpose of getting a new pair of shoes. He would leave a little early, go to the stinkracks where people changed out of their shoes, find the best pair that fit him, and wear them home.

Believe it or not, I haven't always been a little angel. We used to shoplift regularly, using codewords like "it's after five", and "I'll put it on my scuzz card". I remember my brother's little friend and me going into a grocery store...he had a coat with a hole between the lining and shell, and stuffed it with sunglasses. The manager called us back and tried to get me to snitch on him, but it didn't work. I didn't see shit. The funny part is, while they were grilling me, I had a few cartons of Marlboros and packages of candy under my jacket that they never saw, desperately holding on to them while the police took Mikey away, and I walked home with the booty.

I loved the skating rink, but I never was any good at it, so I usually just hung out with the high school clique called the "Freaks", and smoked dope. One day, we had a big barbeque, steaks, burgers, dogs, ribs, and plenty of malt liquor to pass around, every single item, including the charcoal, stolen in one pass. Too bad there wasn't a black candidate who didn't get elected (or did), or a black suspect who was convicted (or wasn't), or we would have had an excuse to call it a riot instead of shoplifting. Of course, we would have had to do it in "black face", but we had plenty of corks and alcohol, and we could stolen the cocoa butter.

That's a movie recommendation, BTW, Bamboozled. It's funny as hell.
