  • Waverly Hills Sanatarium

So soon I shall be taking a tour of Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Louisville KY. Where so many lives have ended, ive heard any where between six thousand and seventy two thousand people have died. Ive heard the realistic number being close to seven thousand.
I was just curious if any one on here has taking a tour of it and if they have encountered any thing.

I would put money on going Saturday night. They have two hour tours before the big eight hour tours. The two hour tour me and my sister are takin is only 22 bucks. But you need like a 48 Hour call in notice to take a tour there and pay with credit card, what time were going yet is yet to be detertmined.

I have been there MULTIPLE times and HOLY SHIT is it fucking awesome. One night a group of 6 friends and myself had the entire building to ourselves for the entire night and some of the crazy shit we heard/saw was INSANE!!!! I have some pictures somewhere, but can't find them right now...I'll post them when I find them!

I haven't been there, but I would highly recommend going anyway. I love old buildings, especially very large ones. I got to spend the night in the Baker, courtesy of the Trocars, and I could have stayed a week...if I had taken a generator.

Just wear very comfortable shoes. I was walking on the sides of my feet by the end of my stay.

I saw a documentary on it once on the sci-fi channel -- I instantly wanted to either live near it, or in it.

She was neat in her hey-day; sad for what she was used for, the TB patients, and later a bad nursing home, but her bones are beautiful.

Hope you have lots of fun and take pictures. Maybe you'll even encounter a ghost or two; she's supposed to be chock full of them.

Yes. I went as a joint group venture of The Anamolous Research Center and Western New York Paranormal

And No. Although it's a very interesting place. The parts the have finished restoring are very nice. They have to keep restoring the property (which is not a bad thing), or the state can legally take it from the owners due to it being a historal land mark.

All and all it was a good trip.

Plenty of audio, photos and video was taken that night.

I like old electrical systems, belltowers, old equipment (yeah, even enema machines. There's a funny story behind that that Larry or Alex could tell you), dark passages and secluded staircases...stuff like that.
