  • Video Editing Software?

Does anyone here have a recommendation on a movie maker program? I would like to put to DVD some ideas floating around in my heavily medicated head...

    Thanks

iMovie/iDVD if you have a Mac. It's pretty simple and is all designed to work together. If you don't have a Mac yet, I think it comes standard on just about any new one.

I hope you get what you've bought. I stay away from buying any software off e-bay (it is $600 software I believe).

There are also free alternatives online that a lot of people use. Or you can find it on torrent if you want to go the illicit route.

The full software is 600 bucks. I'm just buying the video editing one. IT retails around 100 bucks at local electronics stores. So 60 bucks seems to be a good deal. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I don't know shit about anything when it comes to computers. I just wanted to post in this thread for absolutely no reason at all. Good day.

Well what I need is a lossless open source/free editor with an easy interface. Apparently none exist.

I bought the AVS tools. You get about 25 or so programs, including the video editor, audio editor, ipod maker, xbox, blackberry tools, mobile uploader, CD grabber, everything for copying, editing and labeling DVDs, music mixer, video converter, ring tone maker, video capture, audio-visual surveillance tools...everything that the majority of users would want, and would cost hundreds to register, but you pay $59 and you get one key that works with every program. The editor even uploads directly to Utube. I haven't touched the edges of its functionality.

I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8.0; at first I didn't get it, but after I learned how to use it.. It's just amazing compared to the Microsoft Movie Maker that I used in the past. Very clear, lots of options, worth the price..

I use Sony Vegas for the times when more functionality is used, like for cartooning, where there are masks and layers to deal with. If I need, for instance, to blur someone's license plate as the car goes by, Vegas can do this with a few mouse clicks and drags. It is CPU-intensive, and slow rendering, and every plugin, including mpeg2, has to be paid for. I got my copy from someone who didn't really need it all, but I wouldn't have paid their price for it.
