  • Sometimes, you just do have a good day.

I got $2800 from the IRS, $979 from Arizona, and $70 refunds from a set of tires.

It gets better. They've stopped taking out $120/week child support (woo-hoo! $700 a month raise), and they gave us almost $400 back for not stopping it soon enough.

We're up to about $4000 that I have in my hot little hands, and our accounting firm is expecting us to receive another $8000.

Sometime this week, our airplane should be ready to rent out, and the guy who owns the shop has offered to keep track of the time and hand us the money. No problem there...he has always done the work on our aircraft. Whatever we make on it, it beats the hell out of paying the costs with no tax deduction. I can go give them the keys for night flying, or we can get a combination lock box for them.

I was thinking of asking Tony if we could get a car hauling trailer or a "missile launcher truck"...is there enough interest in car hauling to support one? Tony thinks small, but I do my research and think big.

The big rig is committed to DSW and Swift, so that we can get health insurance from DSW, even though we own the truck. They no longer use company drivers, just owner/ops, but at least we're getting loads. With a $450/wk (yeah, week) payment, and the fuel costs, only pros who know how to calculate and make money can keep them rolling. Tony just got an award from Swift for hauling so much freight, but you have to, even if you leave your wife at home and she becomes a lesbian. Oops^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H ^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H (Only UNIX people get that joke. They're the ones who tell you "stty erase ^H)

I was just wondering if those 2-3 axle single-car trailers or rocket launcher trucks made any money, with today's gas prices. I try to know everything I can about this business. The first thing I learned was to always carry cargo, never people.

you forgot to close and terminate your quotes, you know that'd give you an unexpected end of line error. =)
