Flat-screen copier

We received our airplane back from annual inspection, and it is available for rentals now. To make copies of the renter's documentation, though, I need a portable flat screen scanner. Can anyone recommend one that will run on 12v, or on the output of an inverter? (some digital equipment won't). Some UPS's will accept inverter output as an input, but that's a lot of gear to throw into the trunk. Can anyone recommend a unit that is 8.5x11, maybe even smaller, is compact, and has liberal power requirements? If it has a slide reader, that would be awesome, but that's a personal thing.
