...if that is the worst pun you hear all day...
They certainly have changed, though. They have a remote control, thermostat, timer, energy saver, mode switch, and even a sleep timer.
They have a perfect one for hearses too, and anyone who works on cars. It is a portable air conditioner, very nice-looking cabinet, and you have only to run out a hose that looks like drier hose to vent out the hot air. You could run that out the floor under the mound (with the appropriate corrosion protection) or vent it into a fender and put a grille down at the bottom of the body.
It would be nice to throw in the back seat and put the hose out the back window and run on a heavy extension cord when you are working outdoors under the dash of any old car, too. If it is all digital, though, you may have to use the right UPS in between the inverter and the unit to filter the power for use in a hearse. I can help with this information. This is the reverse of the rollaway air conditioner that we used at the airlines, when you put the hose inside. The problem is that they still cost $450, but when the price comes down, I will look seriously at one.
With just over a ton from the two window units, I can even have air conditioning in here if the power goes out. Just close off the old kids' rooms. My neighbors will be pissed.
I will mow the lawn and nail down the siding after about three days, when I am out of pain from doing this installation.
