That is one the most fugly hearses I have seen in a long time. It was almost as bad as some of the shit LMS post.

Actually, it's a service car. With the demise of the station wagon, those are becomming as rare as high top ambulances. Certainly better on gas, and easier to park then what a lot of us drive.

Of course its a first call car. It is too fugly for a funeral. Personally rare or not I don't see how anyone can buy, put money into, or be seen in any of the station wagon based cars

Actually it wasn't originally built as a first-call car... it was built as a landau hearse. This was built by a lesser-known coachbuilder & they obviously converted station wagons into low-end hearses. It was built by Thacker Coach & is officially a "Custom Landau" edition. Here's some pix of another one just like it in the link above.

Although they may have seen some use in smaller funeral homes as a main line hearse, they were certainly used by some funeral homes as firsy call vehicles. I remember back in the 1970's a similar Abbott and Hast Conversion was owned by a funeral home in Hollywood as a first call car, and they would rent a Cadillac coach for funeral services. "It is too fugly for a funeral"- Actually the proportioning isn't all that bad. As far as something to fugly for funeral use, I'd reserve that for a Hummer converted to funeral use, or that ugly limo style coach that they used to transport Michael Jackson to Forest Lawn.

My main dislike is the wrap around tail lights on those kind of coaches. What is with the vents above the coach builders tag?
