I love this movie. It's based on Frank Miller's adult comic about the Battle of Thermopylae, which is "almost" historically correct, but with digital effects and the typical Hollywood embellishment, not to mention a touch of smartassed sarcism. The first time I saw Xerxes appear as a bald-headed, jewel-incrested, gold-layered fag, I lost it.
But wait...there's more. I just heard about a movie called "Meet the Spartans", a parody comme "Epic", "Airplane", etc., rated absolutely the worst by the critics, which made me run immediately to amazon.com to order it for ten bucks. I suggest watching 300 first, and then the parody. If you're a little demented, I'm sure that both will be worth the cost.
