  • This is some major shit

The video tells you part of the story, not all of it. When Arrow Trucking went under, they not only cut off the fuel cards and left truckers stranded, but the owner-ops who had no permanent address and had the paychecks deposited to their card accounts have just lost their bank accounts as well as the equity in their trucks. Arrow has been receiving their truck payments (ours is $450 a week, theirs probably about the same) but not paying them out, so their trucks are being repossessed as quickly as the tow trucks can find them. These guys are stranded in the snow by the side of the road, no money, no place to go, no way to buy fuel, no way to get home. Merry Fucking Christmas.

We have been authorized by Swift and DSL to pick up any stranded Arrow driver. I told Tony that, since I'm still too fucked up to drive, if he finds a decent driver, go ahead and arrange to team him. At least that way, he can pay a share of our expenses, and he'll have a job.

Some drivers are dumping their trailers wherever they are, shredding their manifests, and letting whomever owns the load try to find it, prove that they own it, and bring it in at their own expense. The Arrow offices are completely abandoned, even the security guards. Of course, lawyers are all over it, and hopefully they will leave the execs in the same shape that the drivers are in now, or worse, but my heart bleeds for the drivers and their families. I've seen the airlines do this same thing, and the IRS takes the tool boxes away from the mechanics, so they can no longer work, but I've never been able to stomach it. There is just no excuse.

If you know an Arrow driver, please make a contribution to his family. These people don't want welfare of charity, they just want to go back to work.

I guess we're next on the chopping block. We didn't get paid anything last week, and they haven't issued any driver logs for 2010.
The irony is that Tony switched jobs and became a truck driver because he didn't want to live with the threat of having his job sent to India.

Oh well, I have to go praise the birth of Jesus and open my Christmas presents (yeah, right).

That really sucks. Ive been driving oilfield almost 35 yrs and well aware of Arrow, almost went to work for Them years ago, just could not handle all the tarping. The only reason I still do it is I can take off when ever I want to. Company was bought out by a bunch of investers, and seem to be trying to get rid of Everybody to cut down on libility insurance. Every new contract is a paycut, so much for cost of living shit.

        What a crock of shit!

I think YRC is next - they are operating on severely borrowed time, I give them another couple of weeks and that section of the LTL market will be saturated with freight (I think YRC carries about 20% of domestic freight currently)

I have a feeling that Obama will "bail out" the trucking companies as they go under, and run them subsidized so that the rest of us will fall. Taking over Transportation is one of the 14 points of the Socialist agenda, as is taking over health care, which was just passed. I'm sure that people are pissed off at hearing me say this (one person in particular), but he's already taken GM. When he sent some people over to take Ford, they were forced to leave at gunpoint. Ay least someone is defending free enterprise. Praise the Ford, and find the ammunition.

          J. P. Morgan once said, "Never bet against the United States", and it is true that we have suffered through a bad economy, and some bad governments, and we're still kicking. This time, though, people are talking about seceeding, doing an Article 5, you can't find ammunition anymore, and our government has allegedly hired a consultant to come up with a plan to dispose of 30-50 million bodies in this country. Don't sell your hearse.

Just because you're like a bad case of hemorrhoids, doesn't mean I'm going anywhere, you pathetic cunt. While your blathering babble is one of the few drawbacks of this great site, it does not outweigh all of the cool folks that make this site special.

I will say, that your cries for attention are quite entertaining.

I think you have something there. If I'm not mistaken, there is an option to ignore a user, but he hasn't used it. I have seen married couples scream and fight, hurl profanity at each other, threaten to leave, even try to kill each other, but they always seem to go back home and make up. It may be l'amour, dependency, or perhaps infatuation, but since he spends most of his time on this board answering me, it is obvious that there are some feelings there. I'm just really not interested.

If you wish to turn my verbal disdain for you into wishful thinking that another man aside from your husband would have anything to do with you, knock yourself out. I bet he's a trucker for a living just to get away from your babbling jibber jabber. That job must be a vacation compared to spending time at home with you - if your interaction here is any indicator of how you are at home...

"Most of my time," huh? Gosh, I've been associated with this site(both incarnations) for over 5 or 6 years and have over 450 posts...you're right, I have spent "most of my time" replying to you. Pop another vicodin, they do wonders for your accuracy.

Yes, I could go ahead and use the "ignore" function, however, I prefer to just ignore most of your posts without the use of board software. It works pretty good for me. It's just that from time to time, especially when you go into "look at me and read my blather" mode, that it gets under my skin. Sue me for being the only one that has been verbal about it(trust me, I'm not the only person here you annoy).

Most people here are intelligent enough that they would send a private message, to me or to the moderator, if they had a problem with my message content. The idea that they would complain directly to you is asinine. What nobody wants to see is a public pissing contest, which is why I don't respond to your personal attacks in kind. Perhaps a little maturity is needed here.
