So, only a few here may have seen my post elsewhere on my fun NYE day.
I'm getting in my car to go to work in the morning and it stalls at the end of the street. So, I realize, I'm not able to drive it anywhere. I was able to get it in reverse and nurse it back to my house. So, I figure I'd try to get it to my mechanic. Ken's standing next to the hearse and I try to start it. No go. I try again and BOOOOM!
It sounded like a small canon went off. My muffler blew up. Turns out the cadyllitic converter went. But what also started it was a bad firing sequence where the distributor and cap was arcing. I had no idea b/c my engine wasn't backfiring or giving me any indication of having a problem.
So, I had to replace all the spark plugs, wires, distributor, cap, converter and muffler (sucks b/c that was replaced about 1 yr ago). Also had 2 freeze plugs that were going, so those were replaced. Hoping the others are oh kay for now.
