Diesel is over $4/gallon in some places. We spend nearly $1000 to fill up our truck, about every other day when we're busy.

The bad side is that there is less freight, which also means that the economy is fucked. You don't need to listen to an Obama speech to know how the economy is doing, just ask a truck driver.

There is one good thing about it, from my point of view. Customers pay a fuel surcharge, based on 6 mpg, currently about 43 cents per mile, with an extra 3 cents per mile on west coast loads. Yeah...by the mile, so all we have to do is slow down a little, get 7 mpg instead of 6, and we pocket some extra cash on the fuel surcharge. Unfortunately, it isn't enough to make up for the slow freight and the fucked economy.

There is plenty of crude oil in and around the US. All we need to do is get rid of Obama and Friends and get it all opened up for drilling, and we wouldn't be having to import anything. Shit, maybe we could even start selling our food for food again, instead of wasting money trying to make motor fuel out of it.
