Not that 95k is affordable, but it just seems 'low' for what it is.

I would buy that thing in a freakin heartbeat if I could.

I bet flying that thing is an adrenaline rush and a half. I'd be happy to know somebody with the scratch to buy it, at least a ride could be had.

        That's pretty sweet!

I know a couple of guys that buy/restore old planes but they're all into WWII stuff, not the jets so much.

In fact today I went up in an L7

Interesting story behind it, it was used in WWII over Germany, they'd fly over the enemy lines and the guy in the rear would take note of the number of enemy troops, their placement etc.

Also it has no eletrical system, everythings mechanical. Hella fun to fly.

But anyway I'll share the link, maybe one of them will get it, or know someone who would.

It carries a third of its empty weight in fuel?

I will get my pilots license someday, and with that I will also own my own plane.

I wouldn't mind having something like a WWII vintage fighter plane or recon plane or even something like this:

It'd be way more fun to have a plane and be able to take people places - just be like "I want to go have dinner in Panama City tonight" and fly down there, eat, fly back.

Later in the summer my buddy Tim and I are flying a Cessna 172R (rental) down to the coast, play golf for the day and then fly back. Seems pretty baller to me.

I like this better, jets need to much room for take off and landing.

I like riding in helicopters, but I'm not really interested in one as a hobby. I WILL own a plane in my lifetime and it will be dope.

My friend Matt (the guy with the L-7) occasionally works with private pilots as sort of a delivery guy. He'll go where their plane is and fly it to them, then either fly home commercially or tries to schedule another delivery nearby.

Right now he's on the way to cali to deliver this...

I actually remember an article in popular mechanics, maybe a decade ago or so, talking about after the dissolution of the soviet union, private pilots were able to pick up decommissioned soviet combat jets for(relatively) dirt cheap. this would be one of those instances. Honestly, it took millions of dollars to build one of those in its' heyday, not adjusting for inflation. picking it up for under a hundred grand would be a STEAL!!! Personally, I'd like to restore a p-38. I just like the split fuselage thing.
Oh, and it is quite baller-my buddy in indianapolis has his license, and we'd take trips all the time. We decided one summer to find the best regional BBQ. Flew to nashville, Louisville, Kansas City, you name it, in a single engine cessna. It was a f*cking blast.
BTW, You need anyone to work on it, I worked hydraulics on AC-130s....
