Honestly, southern California is not where I want to die. I miss seasons, and getting snowed in.

There is a Black Economist Named Walter Williams, once head of Economics for George Mason University, who proudly displayed a Confederate Flag. To him, it wasn't a symbol of Salvery, it represented States rights over an all powerful federal Goverment. He would sometimes announce forgiveness for slavery, so some whites would "stop acting like Damn fools", about their guilt over something that nobody alive in this country today had participated.

I WISH I could find it, but he did a whole hour long special broadcast here on the public access channel, wherein he was wearing a dashiki (tradational African wear usually in crazy loud colors) made ENTIRELY out of the Confederate Battle Flag.

chris, by “dashiki”, you mean a dress, and by “someone made for me” you mean I bought for myself?

                    '56-'01

'01-'03 (EVERYBODY on both sides of the flag issue hated this ugly bastard)

I love how people say America forgetting about the rest of the continent too. We're the United States/US citizens. Not that anyone cares about semantics like that though.

Referring to America is like calling someone by a well accepted nickname, I hardly think Canadians with their provinces and territories would even remotely think you were including them. North American would include Mexicans, Americas would cover the south Americans but only if referenced as such.

Calling someone from Russia an Asian is accurate but doesn't denote their generally accepted heritage or relation to a country - same as a European might want to be referred to by the country or region they are from (ala western European)
