It has been on my "watched" list since the first hour. I have a big trip to NYC in 2 weeks, or I'd buy.

              No doubt!

And finally....."Why are you selling this beautiful car??"
Answer: Ebay offered $1 listing on all cars, so figured, what the heck?

That's tempting, but I can tell she is going to be out of my range. Thanks though. My time will come.

Yep, didn't sell.....Was wondering what you all thought....is 15K or B.R.O too much to ask for the first year Olympian 3-way??? I'd be happy with 12K, what's all of your input? Thanks

The obvious stuff about 'whatever the market will bear' aside, I doubt you'd get 15k for that car or even 12k honestly. 10k would be probably the end all be all if it were perfect and there were that one buyer out there who couldn't live without one.

Ambulances almost always go really high:

But to show the comparison, this is a '64 that the buy it now is 12k and this car is damned near perfect.

I will say that I think that since that JFK hearse went soooooo retardly high that the market is more primed for people trying to make a little money on cars with history.

Don't get me wrong, I love your car and you should always set a pretty high price for it if you aren't actually that interested in selling it (I'm sure if someone offered me 50k for mine I'd hand them the keys without a second thought - but other than that it's not for sale) so you can feel good about it if it does sell.

                      Chris

Ok, well you asked what we thought, so here is mine...probably not the answer you want, don't take it personal, it is a view on the hobby more than anything...

Hearses are not gold mines. Nothing personal here against you, but everyone thinks that what they have is rare, or that because they put some rims on it, it is now properly customized and worth more. I hate to say it, they just aren't. I've been in the hobby long enough to remember finding these cars in mint condition from the homes for less than 1k easily.

That's not to say you can't sell a good car for an (in my opinion) absurd price, but it's going to probably have to be some noob who has no clue what hearses are worth and hasn't done any research so they are willing to plunk down lots of cash for a car they could have found elsewhere for cheaper. Don't get me wrong, if you can sell your car to an idiot for tons of cash, I FULLY support it, I have always believed that ignorance should cost you and what better way to execute that thinking than to make some moron pay out the nose?

The thing is, if you're patient you will find good cars cheap. Examples, both of these cars I purchased in the last 2 years for $800 -

They are both great cars with damned near no flaws, so how did I get these great deals? I waited and searched a bit, didn't rush it.

Anyway, the central point is, yeah, your hearse is nice, but I don't think it is $5,500 worth of nice.

I have to agree with Zachary on this one. You have a beautiful hearse, but you won't be getting $15,000 for it anytime soon.

I totally hear what your saying, and I believe...."There's an ass for every seat!" I do know personally you can find them cheap, and like yours Zachary they are OK and a great buy. I'm not bummed, pissed or anything like that and I do know that if someone wants MY hearse, they will have to PAY for her and the antique casket worth $5000, and well, Phil....he's just priceless. What I don't get is that there are some hearses that go on Ebay that are rediculously(sp?) high, but, like you said, it's that "somebody" that just HAD to have THAT one......time will tell and in the meantime I love my beautiful hearse, and Phil might spend another Thanksgiving with us!

Now if it would of been a 1959 then 15k would be easier to get....
