Not sure if this is the right spot, but Ebay related...

A friend on another board (hauntforum) had a 67 coach all lined up and ready to go from Ebay. Suddenly get this info...

"The ebay seller is getting cold feet and wants to kill the transaction. He misrepresented the car claiming the title was clear when it wasn't. He wants to sell it locally in SoCal so he doesn't have to comply with Colorado State title laws."

Any thoughts? Any one near CO that could help her?

Sounds dodgy...sounds like the seller is afraid the car wont reach a good price and wants to pull the plug.

Where did this message come from? Directly from the seller?
Sounds like he already has found a local buyer and does not want the hassle of dealing with an out of state sale. It should be up to the buyer to deal with the title, and do you really need one for a 67?
Either way, if it is the one that just sold for 4K, nice car - put that money in escrow until the sale is complete.

Flymanj3 - thank you for your help.
I am the ebay buyer and I won the bid at $4K. The seller misrepresented the car by claiming that the car had a clear title but when my husband talked to him on the phone he said it had a salvage title. Believe me, I didn't want a salvage titled car!

We contacted the Colorado DMV about getting the title but the seller wasn't giving us information about the car. So, we had the seller contact the Colorado DMV. He left us a phone message stating that he would have to do 6 or 7 things for it to be titled and it was too much of a hassle for him. He said he had some local buyers and he would rather sell it to them.

Now we can't get the guy to return phone calls or email. No money has exchanged hands yet. I don't know where this is going to go.

Ebay funds more terrorists than opium. I would look on craigslist. Also try using craigs helper to sort of turbocharge the search.

Phoenix AZ seems to have some promising candidates.

          Sanfrancisco has a nice 66

Kansas city MO has a nice 66

Great 63 buick in worcester MA.

No pics but '57 for sale in vegas

Sounds like its already gone there.
Unfortunately, your only recourse now is to post negative feedback for him on Ebay, which only serves to open you up to retalitory negative feedback. Even though you did nothing wrong, it is justifiable under Ebay policy.
Better to take the risk and move on - if he misrepresented the clear title, what else do you think he failed to disclose about the car?
Karma will catch up to this cat - betcha a buck his "local sale" will fall through and he'll be calling you back to try and work it out, or relist the car.
            Good luck.

I'm moving on. The guy is either going to sell it locally or re-list it on ebay.
Thanks for the craigslist postings. That will help me in my ongoing search.

I would sound all nice and ask him for positive feedback..then as soon as he does...blast him with negative, LOL.
