  • Steer Clear of this 1967 Hearse on ebay

Very interesting. The 1967 hearse I "won" on ebay on the 15th of January (but never received) has been re-listed but the same jerk who told me he had sold it locally instead of honoring the transaction with me.

Anyway, this guy is a jerk.

It's listed with a salvage title now. ???

It was a salvage before but he didn't disclose that information until after the bidding had ended. I'm sure he included it this time because I zinged his feedback score for it.

Ha! I'm sure he'll just say the deal fell though. The guy can't tell the truth to save his life.

If you read through that thread, someone else caught on to his shennanigans and posted some further links to his "doings." He's also a "former" member of the PCS - or so he says.

Everything stinks about the guy and his car.

Oh yeah, did you notice how he spelled hearse in his auction? Do ya think PCS folks accept those spellings?

I was searching around for another 1967 when the guy stopped returning my emails and phone calls. You can imagine my surprise as I found the same hearse on this mini cooper site.

The second listing of the hearse ended today and it did not meet reserve. The reserve when I "bought" it was $4000 and he had bumped it to $5000 for this listing.

I had put a hex on the guy last week. So far it appears to be working

                thanks for the heads up

I was looking at this hearse thinking of buying it for a parts car for my 67 hearse. Thanks for letting me know not to trust this guy.

A salvage title lowers the value, but it could mean as little as a broken light lens. My truck had not much more damage than that, but the insurance company had a habit of totalling just about everything, and they paid $5600 for very minor damage because I paid the salvage value and took it to the DMV for a salvage title. All they want to do is inspect the numbers to make sure that you haven't repaired it with stolen parts.

Then again, he could have covered the whole thing with tape and bondo. I bought both of my old cars on Ebay and got a decent deal on both, but I've heard some real horror stories. I wouldn't buy "sight unseen", or very far away.

                    Wow a MINI forum.

I am a regional mod there, but it looks like they have already shut that guy down quite well.

Is he trying to sell it again?

This hearse also has A/C but it needs to be recharged.

hahahaha! Something smells like bullshit. "It was working when it was charged up in 1982, so it should just need a little freon." Once I see "works but needs a charge" or "probably just needs a fuse", I'm done with that ad.
