  • Auto Posted: 1968 Cadillac MM Landau Hearse (Anaheim) $6500

1968 Cadillac Miller Meteor "Citation" Landau endloading hearse - Beautiful condition in and out, straight solid rust-free body. Always a California car, was owned by two funeral homes in Northern CA, came out of service in 2005. Clear CA. title.

    photos are here - http://www.sandman.ws/1968.html

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION - Runs and drives excellent! 472 V8 with 102,200 original miles. Turbo 400 transmission. The temp gauge shows that the hearse runs at 1/2. My mechanic says that this is not a problem and will not hurt the car if it is running at 1/2. He also said the radiator might need to be rotted out in the future. The hearse has never over-heated on me.

PAINT AND BODY - Straight solid body. Originally a black vehicle, was repainted white, door jams are still black. The white paint is a little faded with some chips and scratches. It's hard to notice but the paint on the passenger front door and the passenger fender skirt are a shade or two different than the rest of the car. Looks like they were resprayed after the hearse was painted white. They matched when I first got the car but look a little different now probably because the paint is getting older. If you look closely in the close-up photos you can see what I'm talking about.

Vehicle has the original black crinkle painted top. It has never had a vinyl top and has no rust on the roof or above the windshield. There are a couple of small bubbles on the second door driver's side. Very small and kind of hard to see. I took close-up photos of these areas. In the photos there is some brown on the bottom of some of the doors, this is not rot, but surface rust where the paint has come off. These are minor imperfections but I wanted to mention everything. The bottoms of all the doors(the part that faces the ground) are all solid with no rust holes. There is no rot in the lower part of the vehicle. The rockers and lower quarter panels are all solid.

CHROME/STAINLESS - Beautiful original chrome bumpers and stainless moldings. There is no rust or rust holes in the bumpers or bumper ends. Vehicle has the original side moldings with the extra Fleetwood trim on the fender skirts and Fleetwood trim on the bottom of the quarter panels. It also has the extra "Citation" double stainless moldings below the landau bars and above the second windows and across the roof.

INTERIOR - There are no cracks in the dash. Steering wheel is in very nice condition. The front door panels and front seat have been redone with a gray velour. The front seat is very firm and comfortable. The headliner in the front and back are both in excellent condition. The back compartment is all original and is in great condtion. The floor and some of the rollers show some wear. The original curtains are in great shape and are NOT dry and brittle or sunbaked.

GLASS - All the glass is good with no cracks. The windshield had two small stars but I had them filled and they are very hard to detect and are not in your vision.

TIRES - The tires came off my other hearse and are about 3 years old with less than 500 miles on them. Vehicle has front disc brakes.

EXHAUST - Quiet single exhaust. The muffler looks like it has a dent in it, but it sounds quiet.

    Clear CA title, $6500

I wouldn't have noticed that. Mine doesn't have the M&M on the fenders like that. I noticed how when it was painted they left the half roof black and didn't paint it to match the body.
