Been watching auction for a few days already.
Incredibly rare and gorgeous service car that even non-Mopar lovers should be able to appreciate. Seller did a very good job researching description as well. Solid coach!
McPherson mentions this in two different books, calling it two different years. It was introduced at '48 Detroit NFDA convention in October as a new offering for '49 model year and was only available through March '49 - which in fact makes this a '49. Also interesting to note it was built based on Chrysler/DeSoto/Dodge 9 passenger sedan/limo chassis and not lengthened by Superior.
Whoever buys this is sure to have a winner.
