I've had quite the opposite reaction with mine. I get invited to way more shows than I can possibly attend. In fact many of the shows we do attend, have special spots saved for us right up front, lol. I've never had anyone freak out and ask to move, most people actually want to be placed next to us, because we get so much traffic. I think it all has to do with the area you live in, I've heard of things like that happening in other parts of the country.

CC took the words right out My mouth. Besides Our Own show, everywhere I been, including the Shriners, seemed to have been given special treatment. Seems Everyone wants Us to come out, especially the Ones Who do the 50/50 raffle by car lengths. Last night there really seemed to be a lot more interest, maybe with Halloween coming up. So far nothing negative. A Guy even wanted to buy My car at the gas station. He thought it would be a fun ride, How Origional, lol.

Ditto - as far as 'shows' go, never had a problem, and in fact... the invitations abound.
I have, however, had a few run-ins with participants.... seems when you have a $10,000+ car and a $1,500 Hearse pulls up and takes all the spectators away from you, I can see why some would get pissed - oh, well

I can only get to it, if I go through the link on the home page. The other link won't give me permission. (feel free to erase this post when you get the links fixed, so there's no clutter in the thread)

I have never had any problem at any car show or cruise in. I have heard A LOT of stupid questions. I go to a cruise in every month and my hearse is used as the 50/50 ticket for the car length. I have had a new Chevy Camaro and a new Dodge Challenger park right front of my hearse, I was parked before they got there. I use to set up a whole cemetery behind my hearse at cruise ins and car shows, never heard a negative response. The only negative comment I have heard, was once at a cruise in where we had 5 hearses. I overheard a man tell his friend, "Who in there right mind would want a hearse?". I looked at him and said "nobody, because after you start spending money on them you don't stop." He didn't have anything else to say after that.

That just seems like total bullshit. I happen to know one of the high high ups for IASCA car competitions (and have even judges Nationals down in Ft Lauderdale FL) and he thinks hearses are killer! I am even a club member of a local car club and get flack when I DON'T show up. It is written in the club bylaws that when we all ride together, my hearse has either the #2 or the #3 spot in line (depending on how many cars are riding together).

I go to a ton of car shows and have never had any kind of reactions like that. That is really awful.

I HAVE OWNED HEARSE/AMBULANCES FOR 10+ YEARS. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH PEOPLE LEANING ON OR TOUCHING IT BECAUSE IT'S NOT IN RESTORED CONDITION. I HAD A COMMENT ON HAVING MY KIDS, REALLY YOUNG AT THE TIME (EARLY 2000'S), RIDING IN THERE....AND I REPLIED "WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE THEM TO RUN ALONG SIDE?" USUALLY HAVE NO PROBLEMS, ATTRACTS A LOT OF PEOPLE, AND OVERALL RECEIVE A LOT OF COMPLIMENTS, EVEN THOUGH EVERYONE I HAVE OR HAD, WERE NOT RESTORED.

PEOPLE NEED THE LEARN TO KEEP THEIR COMMENTS TO THEMSELVES AND NOT TO TAKE THEMSELVES TOO SERIOUSLY.

I've found that regardless of where you are, there will be people who are rude and people who are cool when it comes to anything that doesn't fit the concept of normal...and the ones who freak and the ones who are cool sometimes surprise me. For example, I've had little ol ladies love my tattoos and piercings.

Come to think of it, you're right Raven... Most negative comments (when they come) come from middle age folks - usually anyone over 50 and under 25 love the coach...go figure
