  • Looking At a hearse

    Hey guys.
I am looking to buy a 50s hearse in the next two years or so. I am new to the scene and need some advice. I have looked into Caddy hearses and they seem to be well out of my price range. So is there any suggestions as to affordable makes? I own a 65 Mustang that I love and have restored but want to keep it and get a hearse as well.

I much prefer Caddys, but just avoid any 59 and you should do a lot better on price.

It would help if you could mention the body style you like specifically. The late 50's model Cadillacs cut down on the height a bit.

Do some research though and find something you like. www.coachbuilt.com has some great info and a few pictures.

    Best of luck.

I would stick with cadillacs, cause they would be easier to get parts for. The old addage, of pay now, or pay later comes to mind with anything below the 70's Unless your happy with driving a beater around.

Welcome! And good luck in your search. As was stated, Caddy's are easiest to find parts for, and if you stay away from 59's the prices are better. Though, we all love the 59's I know (I want one myself). I don't know how easy they are to find over there in Oz, but hopefully you can score something that works for you. Hearses are so much fun, you will wonder why you didn't get one sooner

I was sorting through my links yesterday and found this http://www.funeralcoaches.com.au. They have some beautiful ones, although they may not sell to you if your not a home. They may however be willing to point you in the right direction.
