  • VIN Question, I need help/advice

    Greetings.......

    I have a 69' Cadillac Superior 3-way.........
The VIN# on title/registration begins with Z910.... but I can't find this number anywhere on the vehicle..............yet the gentleman I bought it from assures me that it is indeed the VIN#
Does this sound right for a 69' Superior?
(I just want to verify, so I can ease my own nervousness)

With this in mind, I recently bought a 59' Superior Landaulet, and it NEEDS a title..........what should its VIN# look like?

Any/all help would be greatly appreciated

The VIN# on your '69 will be on the dash. There is a cutout in the dashpad and you should be able to see the VIN# through the windshield @ the bottom driver's side. The VIN plate it riveted to the dash.

No experience with the 1959's yet bud. Here's the answer to your exact question from a thread on the H.A.M.B.

You can find the VIN on one of these places:

On the lower left hand side of cylinder block just above the edge of the oil pan.

Frame, top surface of left side bar adjacent to radiator support.

Above cast rib on rear portion of crankcase, back of left hand block. Numbered at right angles with Crank.

The first 2 digits, 59, represent the year.

The third digit, represents the body code letter

The last 6 digits represent the vehicles production number for that year.

          Well, Thank You Sir!

The 69' VIN was right where you said it was

          As for the 59'........I'm not familiar with H A M B?

But I'll look in those other places in the mean time

Google search "1959 cadillac VIN location"
There's also mention of a plastic tag on the driver's door hinge pillar and that the VIN is within the trim tag on the firewall

"The H.A.M.B." is short for "hokey-ass message board" it's the preferred website for rat-rodders and old-school customs.

...and you're very welcome! Glad to help
