hearse with 305 engine questions

I was wonder how are early 90's (90-92) RWD Cadillac hearses with the 305 engine? Does the engine have enough power to pull itself? How is the gas mileage?
I have heard a couple of people say their hearse with a 305 get terrible gas mileage around 8mpg.

Don't know, but it has to be a better engine than the 4.1.

My 91 Eureka has the 305, on the trip to Hearsecon I averaged 20-21 mpg. She works a little hard on the mountain passes, but cruises just fine at 85 on the open road!

the 4.1 gets good mileage, it just won't go uphill.

My '91 Buick - Eagle hearse gets 20+ MPG highway with the fuel injected 305 and 700R4 overdrive tranny. It's no race car but has plenty of power. The 305 has proven itself over time to be an overall good engine and i'd recommend buying a RWD coach with it under the hood...
