Potential Orlando gathering?

Hey all, so I was thinking that Florida seems to have a dirth of hearse meet ups. I've tried several times to see if there was any interest, but I think due to the layout of our state, it's tough to get an answer on who, where, when to have a meeting.

Sooo - I am proposing that if people living in the state of Florida and Georgia (heck, wherever, the whole of the US of A) would like to get together, why not at Screamfest in Orlando, Oct 17-19? I know one of the guys who works on this event and it's been steadily getting bigger and better every year. The site to check it out is: http://www.spookyempire.com/

To date, they've never had a hearse show, so why not do it this year? I just want to get an idea of who would be interested to go. I'll find out from the promoters if we can have an area to park our cars. I hear they're also trying to work on having a time to close off I-drive to have a zombie walk. That would be awesome if they could also let us have a hearse parade.

In any case, this event has always been fun for me. Just let me know if you would go with your pro-car and I'll take a head count.

If I'm able to get myself a hearse by then, I'd love to try and go there with it. Heck, even if I don't have one by then, maybe I'll consider FINALLY going to this year's Screamfest since I've been asked to go to it for a few years now and never have.

Haven't been to Orlando in about 5 years. A friend of ours owns Bad Dog Productions Tattoo there. Would love to take the hearse down to show him.

So far, it's lookin good. If I have my '53 running, I'll be taking 2 hearses. I'm going to contact one of the other local hearse owners and see if she's taking hers while she's vending. I have been contacted by another FL hearse owner that is going.

So far that would be 4 hearses - with 2 for a maybe.

Just wanted to post an update. I will be meeting with the organizers of the zombie walk this weekend. We're going to work on some of the details for this event.

I'm actually strongly considering going to this. If I can get the days off from work, I think I'll do it! The main problem is that I only recently started working there, so I don't know how nice they'll be about letting me take days off from work, especially since I already need to request some days off to get Lily (my hearse), and some to go up to Georgia around Halloween time. I am hoping that I'll have Lily here by then!

Hey all,

Just posting an update - The group that is putting together a zombie walk is helping to see if we can get a police escort to do a zombie/hearse drive. More to come on this once I get the info.

There's also been arrangments made with the TGIFriday's across the street from the hotel that will allow us to park our cars there. What I would like to do is get another headcount. For those of you who are still interested or may be interested in going to Screamfest in Orlando in October would list your name and year/make/model of coach.
