  • Need a windshield for a 1980 heare

Hey, does anyone know where I can get a windshield for my 1980 caddy fleetwood hearse. The one on it now leaks and I just had it replaced in January, I dont think its a good fit. Leaks by driver side corner and passenger side corner.

If it was just replaced, it may not be the windshield. It could be a rust issue or it may not have been sealed good. If it was replaced in Jan. I would call the company that installed it and tell them it is leaking to see if they will fix it. If it isn't broken, no need to replace it.

If there aren't any spreading cracks, I wouldn't replace it just for leakage. Take it to a windshield shop and ask them to fix the leak. On some cars, I would suggest fixing the leak yourself, but you would probably break the trim on this one, trying to get it on and off.

You can use a garden hose to find the leaky spot. Procar windscreens can be kind of spendy...I spent $900 for my 76, so I wouldn't replace it just for leakiness.

Hey, I've got a 1980 caddy fleetwood superior Myself! Mine leaks a little as well, here's what little info I can give:
First, I assume you've got a vinyl top, if so, do you have any rips in the material or any known rust spots at or around the windshield? the reason I ask is, even if the windshield is sealed properly, vinyl/rust damage can still let water past the weather stripping. As the above posters said, bring it back to the folks who did the installation, and ask them to check for any rust spots.
If it IS a problem with the windsheild, one cheap method of repair would be to get a tube of black silicone and apply it heavily around the windshield, taking care to work the silicone into any space or opening.

        Best of luck.
