  • Just bought a 69 Cadillac M&M Combo

I recently bought a 69 Cadillac M&M Combo and joined the forum. I'm in need of a front windshield. Anybody have tips/leads on buying glass for these old coaches?

    TIA

    I know, I know......

I'll have pics this weekend when I go pick her up.

I just put in a call to Safelite auto glass, and I should hear back from them in the next half hour or so. In the meantime, I recommend getting a FACTORY DEALERSHIP repair manual to go along with your new hearse. These things have all the info you need to fix most any Commercial Chassis driveline or brake issues not covered for the Fleetwood this car is based upon. It will also give you a good starting point for most electrical issues, but each body is wired by the coach builder so it won't be 100% accurate. Will post once I have more info...

Thanks Boogey I appreciate the assistance....so I should look for factory repair manual for a '67 Fleetwood? Is ebay the best source for these or is there someone making reprints?

        Safelite is useless.

        However, I found a supplier.

        1 800 848 1351
        Part number DW678
        Fits 65-70 Cadillac Hearse
        $450
If it is shipped to a business $100
If it is shipped to a residence $150

They do have a part number for 1959-1964, but are presently out of stock.
        DW570
        $750
        $100/$150 shipping as above...

        Hope this helps!

          Manual

          Manual on CD

          Parts Book

          Parts Book on CD

These aren't required for hearse ownership, but a REALLY GOOD IDEA!

Will different conversion companies have different glass/windshields? (i.e. Miller-Meteor, Superior, Eureka, etc...) or will the P/N DW678 fit all Cadillac Hearse's for '65- '70?

            Thanks again for your help.

Cadillac made the windshields, so it fits 65-70 all builders...

Oh ok, just making sure, cause the guy I bought mine from had a windshield for a 69 Caddy, but it was 2 inches to short.

Crazy thing is the windshield and shipping will be more than half what I paid for the whole car...lol.

The commercial chassis windshield is about that much taller. The one he had was for a stock Caddy...

Was that for the commercial windshield? I need a new one for my 69 as well.

Unfortunately, I think those are coach builder/year specific... Need a donor car of the same...
