  • New Here YES! New to this coach's? Answer for me.

Ok I have finally slowed down enough to indulge in another passion in my life and that passion is what this association is all about! I have been a pro car owner for 14 years, matter a fact it was the first car I owned to drive and the only type since that I have owned. Regular cars, including classics don’t really get a side glance. LOL. I truly love these cars and would do anything just ensure the ones I know of don’t see a crusher. I have over the years bought the ones to far gone in aspects that they don’t get smashed and had space to just let them RIP (rust in peace).

In my 14 years I have owned (drivable) cried, beat, kicked, pissed on, slept in, passed out on the roof, mangled myself on and bump a chicka in.

    70 Caddy M&M Hightop Amb - LOVE #2
    68 Caddy M&M Hearse - LOVE #1
    68 Caddy Presidential Limo
    67 Pontiac Hearse
    65 Caddy S&S Hearse
    64 Caddy S&S Combo
    61 Caddy Limo
    59 Caddy Eureka Combo
    48 Buick Hearse
    46 Packard Henney Combo

Is an insane list but I was fortunate to have family in the crushing and auto sales areas. All of the ones in the list were well maintained by me and my father, some restored. As for the list of others that are RIP well that’s another topic all its own.

I am somewhat knowledgeable on a good number of models but I need to have help in a lot of areas. From what I have read in some of the posts there are some good people here and seemingly funny and witty also. This forum seems that it could be of a great benefit for me on resource knowledge and help on parts even new additions to my roster.

Just to give everyone a heads up, I am a Caddy freak especially pre 65 hearses or high tops. I don’t want to come off prejudiced but Caddy’s are in my heart and that’s a tough thing to pull. Yes there are other great cars but they just cant beat the style and the ride. Limos along with flower cars are a take or leave with me, they just don’t make my heart roll. If you talk hearse I’m all ears and probably dragging my but across the carpet like a dog.

I just express in words how much I like hearse’s and high tops, its an experience to watch in person on a new find. The wallet usually flies 2 or 3 cars away and I have so screwed myself on dickering on price its sick. If I see fins and landau bars I so air hump. LOL j/k on the last statement…

I hope this time I can hopefully spend on here is a fun, educating and good way to make friends in my travels. Just be warned I’m a very witty and possess a very sick sense of humor but I will definitely help out whenever I can!

BTW If anyone knows of any 55 Cad Hearses let me know! Unrestored that is.

    Thanks for reading the ramble,

    Darryl

    Welcome to the boards!

Interesting story, and even more interesting cars you own/owned there! Especially having that Packard. Not too many people can say that they've had one of those! Glad to see that there is someone out there who would make sure that a nice vehicle such as a hearse won't get crushed, even if it is beyond repair.

          HEADS UP!

Listed as an ambulance, but would take little to convert if there is much difference at all:

Thanks Boogyman for the Heads Up,

I spied that one on Craigspal a few days ago, its a good car but a long pull on what trailers I have. If its there in a couple weeks when I get my enclosed trailer finished it may make the voyage to FL. The same guy has another one also that is in alot better condition and I might just have to get greedy if we can set a good price for both.

Thus the new trailer so I can haul both at once and keep them safe.

Unfortunately Im a keeper of originals and not mods, so built as and ambulance stays as an ambulance so I couldnt convert it. That way when you meet the car in person its what it was day one.

As for my running roster it has only lost a few,

            70 Caddy M&M Hightop Amb - LOVE #2 - SOLD
            68 Caddy M&M Hearse - LOVE #1
68 Caddy Presidential Limo - SOLD
67 Pontiac Hearse - Hate this unit
            65 Caddy S&S Hearse - Totaled
            64 Caddy S&S Combo
61 Caddy Limo - Now parts, Frame Issues
59 Caddy Eureka Combo - Frame Off Restoration In progress
            48 Buick Hearse
            46 Packard Henney Combo

But I still have prob around 24 -25 parts cars all com. chas.

For the delay of me showing face on here.....

I work my ass off to have the funds to PLAY! Plus Im the only true neon sign restorationist in the country that does it as a sole service specialty. Now that the company has taken root in the new state it gives me alot more time to devote to my second love.

Any chance you would have detailed pictures of a 63 S&S hood? I need to see the general design of the date marks, and detail of hood ornament.

Another guy is looking for a passenger rear door for a 1967 M+M. Got one to spare?

                  And for myself, got any 1961 parts cars? I have a 1961 M+M Landau and a 1961 Superior limo-style.

Where does he get those wonderful toys?

Most impressive. I wished I had place for my one. Can't imagine having that many.
                    Any pics?

I noticed your '69 M&M is your Love #1. I've got a 69 M&M Combo and love it. Just wished I could get the carb figured out and a windshield so I can get it inspected.

YEs it is a hard thing since my interest dont just lay with the pro cars. LOL It also runs into the large commercial trucks and transit buses. As for love #1 its a 68 slick white landau top to bottom. A sexy white chick. LOL

Jeez,.....commercial busses.....I thought I had the pissin' contest won in the family with the hearse and ambulance untill my youngest brother towed in that '55 SceniCruiser. We've got a pretty cool salvage here full of old Tulsa transit busses, a few over the roaders, and a shitload of school busses.

LoL a scenicriuser def has all of us beat! The museum board I sit in Va. has a couple of them and they are some highway monsters. As for their main function is to preserve transit buses is what got me into it. Schoolie's dont perk me up that much cept for that they have an old dodge flat top in the collection that rocks. www.commonwealthcoach.org If your yard has any unique fire trucks Im game.......

WoW I was gone for awile! Sorry folks but I have been slammed!

Its been a busy busy few months since my last posts. However I'm BAAACK!

Since my last visit I have moved once again further south to the SW FL coast. Things have slowed and I have the time to finally get one of my girls redone. Least that was the plans til yesterday.

Yesterday morning I awoke in the mindset to go back to North Florida to haul down a 65 Limo that was purchased 2 months ago. It dont really need too much attention to make it ready to show but its one that has functionality in my new location. Hence I dont have much garage space here for full blown projects.

That was till my nosy sis opened her big blab hole and told me she spotted and old caddy sitting in a local garage a couple days before.

Now Im having to get a decent size garage Reaaaly quick!

As for my being on here to help and learn, Im back full time!

Any owners in SW FL hit me up.
