  • Rear door inter-changes??? Question please help

Think I may have found a door for my 83 superior...problem is all the ad lists is 83 cadillac hearse, nothing else about what kind of car it is.

In my search for a door i've noticed most rear doors have the handle on the left side of the door but my car has it on the right. This car also has it on the right and is an 83 so i'm hoping it will work but wanted to ask here before i buy it.

Any help is much appreciated picture of the car is attached.

    Also, parts for others possible

This guy has the car listed for sale as whole but not running so i figure i could offer to buy the door and he might be more willing to part it out if i could tell him i knew a few other people that needed parts from it.

So if anyone needs anything off an 83 caddy, looks like a superior post here and let me know.

      Door

If your car is also a Superior it should fit. Do keep in mind theyre all built a bit different so it can take some patience to make it fit properly.

Whats wrong with the door youve got? Rust, dented, etc? The reason I ask, if your hings are in good shape and not bent (doesnt take much of an impact to bend them) it would be easiest (in my experience anyway) to leave the hinges attached to the car and go from there. You do have some additional adjustment in the hinges themselves if you need it. Its also easiest to pull the door striker off the car, get the door adjusted and then reinstall the striker. The other factor is the vinyl top on the top section of the door. Removing the exsisting one and getting it onto another door in one piece will be a little tricky.

      Alex!

i was originally gonna buy that car last year but the guy got real shady and stopped returning calls when i was ready to go down there and get it. whatever funeral home use to own it and put a nice junk of change to get the outside updated to the early 90s style thats for sure

I've noticed most have the handle on the left. My 82 Superior has the handle on the right. I think my '84 Superior parts car is on the left.
