oooppps mean to say..
I only have my hearse for oneday when...
this happened..
the story you are about happened about 1hr, and 40 mins ago. every word is true.
well as yall know I just got the new hearse Friday night. I checked her over when I got her home, no problem what so ever. everything worked great. this morning I went to go for a ride....and the battery was dead! no reason it was just D.O.A.! I put a charge on it and figure there must be a bad connection but after I searched it I found nothing. I got the battery charged and up to par, then went on a test run. no problems.
well Sherry wanted a thick crust pizza. she never has had a ride in a hearse. I just got the car and wanted to drive it some. I convinced her to ride with me, and the sport that she is, said OK. her ankle is sore where she twisted it wrong...but I was swift and firm in my desire to take that long black Cadillac. so off we went. her yapping that we should have drove through town, but I didn't want to get caught broke down in the middle of the city streets.
well at first I noticed the head lights were a bit dim. but I figured I'd make the trip..only 7 miles away, on the back roads except 2 miles. ..no prob. I've done worse.
just as I pulled on to the only city road..2.5 miles from pizza hut, I turn on my turn signal and >>>>>POP<<<<<<..THE FREAKEN LIGHTS GO OUT !!!! I called mom and told her to send help ie tools and a battery..and where I would be at. then the one of only three lights turned red as I pulled up to it and the lights were black, the only tail light was the eyes in the skull in the back window. and of all the people to pull in behind me was a city cop.
I knew I was busted and was hopping to make the pizza place before anyone got me but NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..this guy had to get behind me just three hundred feet from the parking lot.
anyway the light turned green and the cop waited till we got through the light and hit the sirene and blue lights and started telling me pull over, when the car started sputtering a little. I was right at the exit side of the pizza hut and there was a big parking space rght there, the car went limp, the lights went out for good the cop blasting the horn blowing the sirene wig wags flashing blue light going full blast take down and spot lights on, a ford ranger on his ass, and I whipped in the parking lot...through the exit side! cop on my butt and he pulled across my bumper and went to back up so he wouldn't block the path and the little ranger pick up whipped right behind him..going the wrong way and following to close and he was acting drunk. I jumped out of my car to catch the officer so I could fllow him on foot or we could get in his car and go to a safe parking pot but the cop backed in to the fordas I got too the rear of my hearse. the cop asked for my reg., and licc., and went to get them out of the car, when the old man started acting strangely, and his wife started cussing at the cop. I reached the cop and gave him my info and his words were" you know you don't have any lights?" I said yes I was comming up to that stop light and my headlights went pop and we were in the dark. I was just trying to get to a safe place to pull the car into, and I had already called for help.
he said go see if you can fix your car, turned around just it time too see that guys wife give him an evil hateful look. then he said "I'm might be here behind you awhile...that ok?".. I said "yes, I'm not going anywhere till I can get the lights to work." I told him I can wait till the thing about the wreck was over and we can talk about my lights and the trouble I'm in. he said it's fine just work on my car.
then he went to talk to the old man who out right refused a breath test. that started a whole new chain of events. by now there were two more cop cars showing up. the cops advized the guy to take the test or they were going to have too take him to the jail. the guy stated telling the cops the smart assed little shits and if it were anyone else then they wouldn't be doing this. then his wife jumped in the fray. she called them names, accused them of herassment, itmidation, abuse of power and verbal assult...none of which was even close to being true by the way. the cop told the guy to give him the normal documents, drivers licc, reg, insurance..ect..and the old woman started in again, got out of the truck, walked up to a 6' tall healthy cop ans started to slamp him..the cop backed away and she stopped her arm before it made contact, and the handcuffs came out. they ordered her in the truck NOW!!!. he had to choices..a ride to jail, or she shuts up and he takes the breath test. he ended up taking the test, but I think it was iffy or something and his wife jumps out of the truck and start her crap up again..this time their son in law a lawyer drives up and starts in.the whole time I'm blocked in, and not one of them even looks my way. I got a good feeling they were not wanting anything to do with a hearse. Sherri went in and got the pizzas and my brother drives up. we tried the old battery and it was no use. that one was a goner.
the laywer started his mess saying he was going to sue the cops for something like insulting the ederly. the cops superviser came and gave the old man a ticket, for failure to obay the cop, failure to give way to a blue light and warning for going the wrong way and following too closely. the old lady started running her mouth and the cop# 2 said this would have been avoided if you had keep your mouth shut and followed instructions.
that's when the 13yr old grand dorghter jumped in. by then the cops had enough. the girl started screaming that the cops were herassing the old folks, and they being abussive and rud. you don't have a right, she shouted. she called them names and made statements that they were thugs...thats when the cop lost his cool..sort of. they whipped out the hand cuffs and told her to leave. she said f--- you. the cops started heading her way and her dad grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth and said shut up ..shut up right now and I mean it!. she reaches and grabs her mom screaming out really loud they are going to get away with abusing the old poeple..the cop said stop it right now. her mom then shouted she's just a 13 yo little girl leave he alone. the cops said she has no respect for the police and she was told to go and get back in to her dads car. she screamed out you are all ass hole basterds and the cops grabbed her arm and started outting the cuffs on. the girl screamed and nnnoo dont touch me, but it was too late. the mom begged them not to hurt the girl and the cop said what are we to do when she was told multipal times to go sit in the car. they drove up after everything and only made things worse by allowing this girl ..who should know better, too be as disrespectful as she is to keep on acting that way. the mother said I'll take her to the car right now, and the cop said..one more word from anyone of you , and all of you will be going to jail. he had enough. they all shut up and the tikets were passed out.
the non cops left and my pit crew were now going to town and my car was ready to go..the cops talk to sherry who explianed to the rest of the cops about the first few minutes when everything went down and they were very interested in her side and had her write down everything she noticed. then he said "you guys have a safe trip. yall going to be ok? need anything?" we said thanks but we are ood, and we worked the bugs out..I think the dimmer switch, and alternator are shot.. and got one good headlight, one ver dim head light and the brake lights and tail lights going and we were gone.
this all went on for nearly 2 hours....I never even got a warning. lol.
on the way home Sherry said, we aint taking the black hearse out after dark again...lol.
I can hardly wait till sherry rides with me to to food lion to stock up on food.
