I too have alot of friends involved with both the NHAA and PCS and I still post on PCS sometimes as a registered member. Riff Raff, you said if you knew who to talk to about the idea of a PCS forum on NHAA you would... well the message has been sent. One of my PCS friends is on the board of directors, so an e-mail was sent to inform them that NHAA has a PCS forum now on our main page and that we are welcoming them to come over & post. Good or bad I guess we'll find out if they're as open to the idea as we are!
The PCS forums are much more open now, what a cool surprise! I'm glad they dropped the pay, pay, pay theme & opened up the site to people who are only "registered member" status & not fully joined. Change is good...

Still I wouldn't mind seeing a paypal donate button or maybe a shirt store over here.

I personally have been a member of the PCS for 20+ years. Seeing the latest round of drama unfold is interesting. From an "outsiders" view it appears to be nothing more than a severe power struggle. From an "insiders" point of view...I dont think anyone in power really has a clue whats going on. Fingers are being pointed etc accusations made and all the usual drama. There are so many conflicting stories that you have to wade through all of them and surmise your own conclusion. The sad thing is there are some really great people in both clubs. All this crap does nothing but alienate more people away from this hobby (or addiction). For me it's always been about the cars and people. I read this board as much as I read the PCS board. For me both boards provide a huge amount of information regarding the cars.
While I dont currently own a procar I still love them. Not to say in the future I wont own another one. For now collecting images, literature and diecast fits my lifestyle much easier. Not to mention a few shitty old pickups that I dont care to leave out in the rain. The is some PCS discussion going on in Yahell right now......Hopefully in the next week or so a new PCS Board will be back up and running under different moderation.
I considered asking Chris to host a PCS forum here also when the shit hit the fan earlier this week but opted to stay mostly mute on the whole thing. I had even set up a forum on one of the free forum sites in a matter of a few minutes for the PCS people to use but was told a "new forum" was already in the works.

Cary, always great to see you around! Good to know you are doing well.

If you feel like spreading the word that we have an open forum for them to come if they don't feel like any politics, they are all more than welcome. We are a little light on the rules, so caveat emptor.

And Senor Livingston, if you feel like posting a bunch of pics, I'm sure nobody would mind you uploading some of your seemingly endless supply of images. =)

The problem over there is that the people running it don't understand that you don't make mounds of cash off of the internet, ESPECIALLY when you cater to a sliver group in a narrow interest hobby. I mean, why the crap would I pay them to get access to things like the technical forums (which admittedly used to rock on that site) or the classifieds, when I get FREE access to those resources elsewhere?

Then there's the fact that you cannot say ANYTHING that Paul or Dean don't agree with. No mentioning of other hearse sites, no links to anything interesting, no mention of anything not relating to their board, yet you have Paul who posts all sorts of unrelated BS 24-7 because he runs it. Do as I say, not as I do seems to be the rule of thumb.

Then there's the endless string of "My wife's, girlfriend's, mother's husband is sick, keep them in your prayers" threads which have dick-all to do with hearses or ambulances.

The board was hijacked, pretty plain and simple. Paul and Dean decided they had some extra wood laying around and why not build a cross they could hang out on for a while for their tireless efforts and sacrifices. I mean, come on, hosting a message board is HARD WORK! It takes MINUTES of sitting and tapping A DAY! There is no reason that they should be putting out that much effort and not reaping even more back patting then they are getting right now.

All in all, I'm glad though. Screw that club. I have more reason than anyone to hate them. I tried, man how I tried, to help them out and the level of BS they responded with, the stories would straighten your short and curlies. At the end of the day they were too stupid to accept someone who was slightly different and benefit from their ideas and enthusiasm.

They crapped on everyone who wanted to be a part of their club, turned people like us away, and now we are becoming the majority. No one hearse club out there is the size of the PCS, but combined we are larger, and taking away from them every day. Their members are dying, ours are having kids, replicating and accepting new, younger recruits. We're infiltrating Myspace, LiveJournal, Facebook, etc, and they have lost their only archaic link to the web.

In a few years no one will even know who they are and they can watch their club die in their own vaunted perfection. They won't have any "freaks" around, no "Halloween" or "Ghoulish" cars, just a pristine, pathetic little monument to their self imposed perfection that screwed them in the end and it will give me great pleasure to know that the efforts of other hearse clubs (NHAA, Graveyard Haulerz, PCHC, ETC) as well as my own, were integral in twisting the knife on them.

                      sausage board

your right, Its not the PCS "club" that is the problem, just the board Mods.

My friend posted on the PCS board, looking for one side of fin trim for a 1970 superior, and she was blasted by Paul and kicked off the board...you would think that a pro car board would be there to HELP each other find parts.
Another PCS member had read her thread, and got a hold of her, the dude came through with the piece of trim and the shipping tube for really cheap, considering the piece was 4 feet long. my friend said the guy could not have been cooler. and all the other PCS members ive met in person have been awseome! example: i would go to any event put on by Lou Farah(PCS SoCal Chapter prez) because the guy is awesome and hey puts on good shows...however, not as good as HEASRCON!

Out of curiosity, how is the Worlds Longest Hearse Procession? I have been considering heading out for that for a couple of years now, it is worth the trek and what else goes on around that time?

i missed the last longest procession, so i cannot give you a full report... but from the pics and vids Ive seen, it looked like a great time. i did not have my hearse then, (i had a 86 ford taurus with aluminum foil landau bars, believe it or not it looked great!)

the 2007 PCS meet out here was GREAT i thought! a few sweethearts were buttered that they didn't get to park together and made a HUGE stink about it. the 08 PCS meet was a lot smaller due to gas costs, nobody wanted to drive their gas guzzlers.....the hearses came out in force! but there were not nearly as, many vehicles as the previous year. still had a great time though. Lou is cool as shit!

i highly recommend you come down here Zach, just bring some meat curtains to fend off the sausage

Zach, if you come out for the hearse procession, Ill put you up in my grandma's condo. The building dwellers would sure appreciate having Lexi parked right out front (which might I add is on a busy street, so you will stop traffic with that masterpiece).

But seriously, grandma's place is very nice and quiet and minutes away from us...

Or you are welcome to stay at my hell hole. My neighbors would just love that...

Oh, and if you do join in on the procession, I MAY ACTUALLY CONSIDER ATTENDING. Otherwise, I have no plans to squire my cars out there in the cozy August heat.

So, erm, not to talk out of school, but I heard that the Treasurer bugged out, and so did the money in the club account...

His name wouldn't happen to be McPherson would it?
